ProperFit Hire · powered by Mermoid

CIPD Level 7 recruitment consultancy

Ranked, defensible candidate cohorts. 24 hours.

I'm Brian Gillingham, a CIPD Level 7-qualified HR professional with a decade in compliance, training, and applied research. I built Mermoid — the audit-first scoring system — because every other AI hiring tool fails the one test that actually matters: can it defend the score to a tribunal, an inspector, or the ICO?

Send me your job spec and your candidate CVs. I'll send back a ranked shortlist with citation-backed evidence per criterion, sector-specific compliance gaps surfaced before interview, and a retention-probability prediction for each candidate. £99 per cohort, pay after delivery.

Order a cohort — £99 Why my background matters

Five things every cohort gets

01 · Skills fit
JD-conditioned scoring

The weights are derived from your job spec. If you said "must have", we boost. If you said "nice to have", we discount. Mathematically grounded, every score reproducible.

02 · Retention
≥1-year stay probability

Tenure pattern, level fit, domain consistency, location friction, trajectory. A great-fit who churns at 6 months isn't a great hire.

03 · Sector compliance
Right docs, right body

CQC's Reg 19, FCA SMCR, SRA practising certificate, KCSIE for education, CSCS for construction, SIA for security — per sector, automatically routed.

04 · Right to Work
Visa + sponsor licence + salary

Status detected from CV. Sponsor-licence requirement flagged. Salary checked against Skilled Worker / Health & Care Worker thresholds. Traffic-light tier per candidate.

05 · Pre-interview docs
Stop missing-paperwork derailments

For every candidate, the must-have documents (passport, DBS, NI number, training records, refs). Missing items surfaced; ready-to-paste email to candidates included.

06 · HITL workflow
You decide, I deliver

Shortlist / interview / reject directly from your dashboard. Decisions persist with timestamps so the audit trail survives a tribunal, an inspection, or a Subject Access Request.

FAQ

How does pricing work?

£99 per cohort, pay after delivery. If you're not happy with the output, don't pay. For high-volume work I offer a £249/month retainer with unlimited mid-volume cohorts.

What file formats do you accept?

PDF, DOCX, TXT, MD. Up to 50 CVs per cohort, 25 MB per file.

What about candidate privacy / GDPR?

Files are deleted 7 days after delivery. CVs are processed on a UK / EU-residency VM and never sent to third-party LLM APIs. The scoring pipeline is fully deterministic so there's no model retention or training on customer data. Article 6(1)(f) legitimate interest is documented per cohort.

What does the audit trail actually look like?

Every candidate report includes: weighted criteria with cv_field/jd_field citations; per-signal evidence with substring-level matches; the JD-conditioned weight derivation with a transparent boost calculation per criterion; sector compliance against named regulatory anchors. Defensible under ICO ADM guidance.

Do you handle sponsorship cases?

Yes. The right-to-work module detects visa types, flags sponsor-licence requirements, and checks salary against the Skilled Worker (£38,700) and Health & Care Worker (£29,000) thresholds. Recruiter-action notes per candidate.

How is this different from an ATS?

An ATS stores CVs. Mermoid scores them against the job spec with a defensible, citation-backed methodology. Many agencies use both: ATS for storage + workflow; Mermoid for the actual ranking.
